Oso Electric Equipment has acquired Electric Sheep Robotics, a company specializing in AI-driven autonomous mowing robots. This merger combines Oso’s electric powertrain technology with Electric Sheep’s robotics and machine learning systems, aiming to advance the automation of outdoor work across various sectors including infrastructure, construction, agriculture, defense, and space exploration. The acquisition follows a prior partnership where Oso introduced a commercial electric smart lawn mower powered by Electric Sheep’s AI platform. Together, they plan to expand access to zero-emission, autonomous outdoor equipment suitable for challenging commercial environments, with deployments already underway in California and Texas. Electric Sheep, founded in 2019 and based in San Francisco, gained recognition as The Robot Report’s 2024 RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award Startup of the Year for its innovative business model. The company uniquely integrated landscaping services into its strategy, allowing it to deploy autonomous mowers gradually with direct operational experience. Its technology includes the ES1 learned-world model for reasoning and planning, powering products like the RAM
